6-15 August 2021 Maestro Burghgraef will conduct Netherlands Student Orchestra (Nederlands Studenten Orkest - NSO) in a series of 8 concerts in The Netherlands. NSO is Netherlands finest student orchestra. Founded in 1952 it has performed the vast majority of the classical repertoire. NSO appoints a new conductor every year. Conductors in previous editions include Lukas Vis, Jurjen Hempel, and Otto Tausk. Soloists: Janine Jansen, Lisa Ferschtman, and Ivo Janssen.

The program of 2021 will include a commissioned work for percussion and orchestra by Thomas van Dun (soloist Dominique Vleeshouwers), and The Ring, an arrangement of Der Ring des Nibelungen, by Henk de Vlieger.

Due to Covid the orchestra will not tour, but will play 8 concerts in one venue: Topsportcentrum Almere. The concert will take place within an enchanting light composition by Teus van der Stelt.
